“Aurora borealis, or ‘northern lights,’ occur due to the interaction of the solar wind with the Earth’s magnetosphere. The most distinctive and brightest are the curtain-like auroral arcs. Each curtain consists of many parallel rays, each lined up with the local direction of the magnetic field, consistent with auroras being shaped by Earth’s magnetic field.” The colors of the light rays in this painting change as the viewer moves and as the natural light in the room changes throughout the day. My goal was to evoke the same feeling as watching the northern lights dance around the sky and ebb and flow in color in miraculous harmony. www.wikipedia.com
